As many of you know, I will be moving back to the US for about 8 months. In preparation, in July I met with our new president, Ellen Groh, for a handover meeting. She is all set to take over the presidential duties a bit early, starting August 1. Thanks to Ellen for her willingness to serve!
There is one pending board issue from this past year that is not yet completed, and I want to take that up now. As there was some concern about people’s personal addresses and telephone numbers being listed on the membership list, the board decided to remove that info last year. Now we want to let each member decide whether it can be listed. As it stands now, the list resides on Google drive, and is accessible to members only from a link on the website in the members area (i.e., one must be logged in to access it). I consulted with a friend in IT finance and he said this should be secure, and so I personally feel comfortable storing the list on Google drive with this info. Now it is up to you – do you want your personal address and telephone number on the list for other members to access? I created a quick google form survey, which you can fill in here: https://forms.gle/zhGnJTZ59qszb6A3A. Please complete it and we will populate the membership list accordingly.
