AAUPW Seasonal Choir
Last October, the AAUPW Seasonal Choir began rehearsals for three holiday festivities:
1. Christmas caroling at Caritas Sankt Anna Haus (nursing home) in Holzkirchen, Dec. 13th, marking the 20th (!) year of bringing song and good cheer to the residents. Eight choir members participated, warmly greeted by, and often with vocal backup from, the residents. Especially heartwarming was being accompanied, floor after floor, by two resident “fans”, who didn’t want to miss out on hearing us. It was also a “welcome back” for choir organizer, Mary Laqua, after retiring in June from working as a music therapist there for many years.
2. AAUPW Holiday Party, Dec. 14th: Thanks to everyone at the party for helping to set the tone and make this so enjoyable! It was delightful hearing your voices chime in on our rendition of “Twelve Years in Germany” (12 Days of Christmas) 😊.
3. Christmas caroling, Dec. 16th , at AWO Haus Haidhausen nursing home, organized by choir member Janine Russoniello-Straub. Thank you, Janine, for making this touching holiday season highlight happen!
The choir would like to extend beyond being a mere “seasonal” choir (rehearsing for Christmas caroling and the annual AAUPW 4th of July party).
There is interest in meeting more often throughout the year. More information will be posted - Stay tuned!
