Our next program will be held this week on, February 18th at 18:30. We are very pleased to welcome our speaker, Cassandra Thu.
Cassandra Thu is an international tax professional with several years of experience advising expatriates, entrepreneurs, and internationally mobile individuals on cross-border tax matters. Her work focuses on German and international tax law, double taxation treaties, and structuring questions for clients with ties to multiple jurisdictions, particularly between Germany, the U.S., and other European countries. She has worked with both corporate and private clients and has a strong interest in making complex tax topics accessible and practical.
In her talk, Cassandra will focus on key tax topics that are especially relevant for expatriates and internationally mobile individuals. This includes an overview of how double taxation treaties (in particular between Germany and the U.S., as well as within Europe) work in practice, common tax pitfalls for expats, and practical considerations around cross-border real estate ownership. The aim is to provide clarity, raise awareness of typical issues, and offer practical guidance on what to look out for when living, working, or investing across borders.
