Adrian Haacks lives here in Munich and works with the new-roots.de projects in Kenya. These programs work to support and educate women and children in the community of Watamu through a school and a medical center.

We have been building a holistic educational and social initiative in Kenya since March 2022. Our core is our own school with an attached library, a safe place where children not only learn to read, write, and count, but also develop self-confidence, curiosity, and future prospects.
But for us, education doesn't end in the classroom: With environmental initiatives like beach and street cleanups and mangrove reforestation, we promote active climate and nature conservation. In our Women's Empowerment Program, we accompany women on their path to economic independence – through training, community, and targeted support.
Another milestone is the New Roots Medical Center, which provides free primary healthcare to the entire community – regardless of income, gender, or background.
All of this can only be achieved with the support of a strong community. Because we know that the major challenges of our time, from child poverty to the climate crisis, cannot be solved alone. But together we can make a difference. Every story counts. The future of every child is a priority.
