What is a „social business“? How can a business run on market economy standards afford to spend a significant portion of total sales on donations for charitable causes and how can the owners afford to invest their time in visiting and supporting different philanthropical initiatives? In 2018, brothers Thomas and Philipp Greulich, both natives of Unterhaching, founded their social impact start-up Bean United and in November 2021, in the midst of the pandemic, they opened the beautiful Bean United Social Café in the renovated old train station in Deisenhofen, near Munich, with the intent to use their social business to help. So how can selling coffee make a difference and is this a sustainable business model? At our next meeting, Thomas, who studied international business in Nürnberg and in Mexico, and who started his career at Red Bull, will tell us about his personal experience with starting and running Bean United and how selling delicious coffee can help fight hunger and support educational initiatives internationally and at home.
Our monthly meeting will take place on Wednesday, November 16th, 2022, starting at 6:30 PM.
